Recap of last week’s predictions:
Matt: Severino won not one, but two games this week and got 17 strikeouts along the way. He’s the one saving grace on my otherwise dilapidated pitching staff.
Eric: That’s what I get for trusting the Yankees, huh? Sonny gray wasn’t bad in his Yankees debut, going 6 innings and only giving up 2 runs on 4 hits while reaching my 6-strikeout prediction. It was not good enough to get the win, however, so my record drops to 1-1 on the year.
Scoreboard says: Eric-1, Matt-1
This week’s predictions:
Matt: I Lose Another Pitcher to the Injury Bug
If you looked at my roster right now you’d think I was another one of “those players” who gave up on checking their roster once August hit. I currently have so many injured pitchers I don’t have bench space to take them out of the starting lineup. Price, Strasburg, Pineda, and King Felix are on all sitting on my DL. My guess is that I lose another starter sometime this week…
Eric: Michael Conforto hits 2 HRs and collects 5 RBIs
It’s time to get back on track and that means it’s time to ride the hot hand. Michael Conforto has been one of the lone bright spots in a lost Mets season. He is hitting .292 on the season and has proven himself to be a cornerstone in the Mets’ outfield for years to come. I say he smacks 2 homers and knocks in 5 runs on the week.
