It’s almost time for the real games to start, and like most fantasy owners; you may check your waiver wire multiple times per day. After all, roster moves are half the fun. Well, here are a few guys that are less than 30% owned in FFPC Leagues that you may want to add to your Dynasty rosters before the season starts. Here goes:

Mike Gillislee, RB, New Orleans Saints (22.7% owned in FFPC Leagues)
Vs Tampa Bay, Vs Cleveland, @ Atlanta

Gillislee finds himself on the list due to opportunity. Recently released from the New England Patriots after being the odd man out, he signed a 1 year deal with the Saints as the backup to Alvin Kamara.  With Mark Ingram suspended for the first 4 games of the season, Gillislee will provide the Saints a short yardage option. That same role in 2017 provided to be fruitful for Gillislee as he scored 4 touchdowns in the first 2 weeks for New England. It’s possible that he can pound in some goal line carries to make him a decent waiver option for your Dynasty, team. Just be aware, that once Ingram’s suspension is over, Gillislee’s time with the team may be as well. If you get four solid weeks of production, he may be a decent addition to your roster.

Kevin White, WR, Chicago Bears (26.08% owned in FFPC Leagues)
@Green Bay, Vs Seattle, @Arizona

If you’re reading this, you may have thrown up in your mouth a little bit. Kevin White has been a disappointment since being drafted 7th overall in 2015. Injuries have derailed his career severely.  In Week 3 of the preseason though, White flashed some of the speed and potential which made him a 1st round selection. He ran a streak up the left sideline and had a nice 29 yard touchdown grab beating 2 Kansas City Chiefs defenders. With only 39 targets, 21 receptions for 193 yards in his career, there really is no indication that White will be a “thing” in Chicago. All I know is, if you have a first round pedigree, you get chances to show what you can do. Currently, he is sitting as 2ndstring on the depth chart behind Allen Robinson. It’s very possible that Kevin White at least could have some value as a depth receiver on your bench.

Laquon Treadwell, WR, Minnesota Vikings (11.74% owned in FFPC Leagues) vs San Francisco, @Green Bay, Vs Buffalo

Treadwell is another former first round draft choice. Like Kevin White above, this name may have made you yell at your screen or gag slightly. Yes, Laquon has underwhelmed during his time in Minnesota (21 career receptions for 215 yards since 2016). The Vikings obviously wanted to push Treadwell, so they signed Kendall Wright to compete with him for the #3 wide receiver position. The first 2 preseason games were both a wash for Wright and Treadwell. However, in the 3rd week of the preseason, Cousins and Treadwell connected on a nice 27 yard pass and Treadwell finished the game with 3 targets, 3 catches for 44yards. This basically put the dagger in Wright’s roster status in Minnesota as he was released. Cousins and Treadwell appeared to have developed chemistry during camp. Cousins has also stated numerous times to the media commending Treadwell’s for his vast knowledge of the offense. Sure, he might not light up the stat sheet because of the large target share that Thielen and Diggs take up, but if there were an injury to one of them; Treadwell would see a chunk of those targets. If you have room and you want to take a flier, what could it hurt?

Chad Kelly, QB, Denver Broncos (1% owned in FFPC Leagues)
Vs Seattle, Vs Oakland, @Baltimore

Kelly is the nephew of Buffalo Bills Hall of Fame QB Jim Kelly. He was drafted as Mr. Irrelevant (the final selection in the NFL draft) in 2017 out of Ole Miss. After basically a redshirt first year with the Broncos (he was placed on non-football injury list after offseason wrist surgery), he was finally unleashed Week 1 of the preseason of 2018. The results have made it worth the wait for the Broncos. In all 4 weeks of the preseason, Kelly went 40/60 for 463 yards, 3 TD’s, 2 INT’s to go along with 42 yards rushing. Not bad considering he was passed on by every NFL team during the draft. His preseason play made former 1st round pick, Paxton Lynch expendable. Lynch was released during the final cuts making Chad Kelly the backup quarterback to Case Keenum. Kelly would be a great dynasty addition to an owner who would like to have a quarterback of the future in their stable. I still can’t believe he’s only 1% owned. Come on FFPC owners!

Jordan Akins, TE, Houston Texans (18.82% owned in FFPC Leagues)
@New England, @Tennessee, Vs New York Giants

The Houston Texans current starting tight end is Ryan Griffin. Read that sentence back to yourself. There is a reason why Houston spent a 3rd round selection in the 2018 draft on Akins. Akins is a monster. He is 6’3” and 249lbs and has exceptional hands. He is however, old for a rookie. Jordan is currently 26 years old due to having played minor league baseball for a few years before heading to college at UCF. Regardless of his age, Akins can play. He showed off his skills early in the preseason in week 1, catching both of his targets for 20 yards and 2 scores. His production trailed off in the last 3 games and he only received 3 total targets, catching 2 for 33 yards. If Ryan Griffin struggles or his concussion issues continue, Akins would be inserted right into the starting lineup as a rookie. With his huge frame, he could be a nice red zone option for Deshaun Watson. If you want a decent tight end to grab on the cheap, Akins might be right up your alley.
