Redraft Waiver Wire Targets: Week 7

Just a reminder that week 7 byes are Green Bay, Oakland, Pittsburgh and Seattle. You’re losing a lot of firepower from your rosters and here are those names (lest we forget):

QB-Rodgers/Big Ben/Carr/Wilson

WR-Adams/Allison/AB/Juju/Cooper/Jordy/Baldwin

RB-Jones/Connor/Lynch/Richard/Carson/Davis

TE-Graham/Vance/James/Cook

PK-Crosby/Boswell/Janikowski (yes kickers, sue me)

Due to our scheduled releases, this will be completed before the Monday night games as well as before I’ve had time to digest every game in depth. So with that being said,  stay tuned to my tweets @THEffVigilante throughout the week for more gems later on in the week.

David Moore

ESPN Own %: 3.4

Yahoo Own%: 2

David has passed Brandon Marshall for 3rd fiddle in the receiving corps and he looks great. From a target perspective, as he has gotten more, Marshall’s options have dwindled. Not to mention his opportunity share has jumped considerably compared to, you guessed it, Marshall’s dwindling. His team sees something and so do we. Not only that, but he’s finding himself open in the endzone while teams focus on Lockett and Baldwin. He’s on bye this week and that’s the perfect time to stash him before he gets a very favorable schedule upon returning.

Nick Chubb

ESPN Own %: 22.3

Yahoo Own%: 30

I’m not jumping on the bandwagon with Hue’s coach speak, but Hyde falling out of favor will happen sooner than later. Chubb is a great stash and he’s still widely available. A lot of analysts I trust really like this kids game and it’s only a matter of time before he gets his chance. They have an easy schedule for RBs coming up (TB, PIT, KC, ATL) look for him to get his chance in this span.

C.J. Uzomah

ESPN Own %: 15.4

Yahoo Own%: 33

With the TE landscape as it is, for the third week I will say again, go pick him up. He saw extra usage against Pittsburgh but I wouldn’t look at that production as normal. PIT has changed their defensive scheme and now TEs are having great days against us similar to Hooper the week before. However, he still has favorable match-ups ahead and will see the majority of snaps because of all the injuries.

Taylor Gabriel

ESPN Own %: 32.6

Yahoo Own%: 22

Another guy I hyped up last week had himself a game against MIA. He is still way under-owned and we need to fix that. Pick him up against a very human NE defense who has proven they can do enough to win, but that doesn’t mean receivers can’t come in and have a good game. 5 or more targets a game is the type of guy I want on my team.

Ricky Seals-Jones

ESPN Own %: 16

Yahoo Own%: 21

Our favorite preseason darling. The breakout cometh! Not so much. He’s a newer tight end, but he’s learning and getting better. The connection with Rosen is strengthening and he looks better than he has in the last few games. He has 4 good games ahead (DEN, SF, KC, OAK ) and hes had two weeks of 6 targets like the first few weeks so the volume is coming back.

Ito Smith

ESPN Own %: 13.7

Yahoo Own%: 9

“The Judge” has looked good when Devonta Freeman misses. He gets limited work and vultures touchdowns, exactly what you want in a flex play or desperation stopgap. Very boom bust for sure, but take solace in the fact that he LEADS the team in redzone opportunity (chances inside the 20) with Coleman the only close one behind him by 5. Sounds like they like him better in this area than others on the team, go get your boom for the week!

Jalen Richard

ESPN Own %: 9

Yahoo Own%: 8

You all should be ashamed of yourselves! PPR greatness is way too under-owned right now! In full point PPR he has had 3 games over 10 fantasy points and one over 15 out of 6. That sounds very ownable to me and I don’t understand how his percentages are so low. Grab him for week 8 and never let go. He is the James White to Lynch’s Michel and Carr loves him as an outlet with how little time the O-line gives him. Stash please!

Baker Mayfield

ESPN Own %: 42.8

Yahoo Own%: 42

You need a QB to stream and this one isn’t too bad. Baker gets a matchup against one of the worst defenses in the league right now. Fire up all offensive pieces in a game against Tampa (especially Landry and Njoku). This will be a high scoring affair and I expect Baker to not lose you your week by getting at least 18 points. You need him, go see if he’s available.

Mitchell Trubisky

ESPN Own %: 32.8

Yahoo Own%: 29

If Baker isn’t available, I have another QB in a good match-up, Mitch Trubisky. New England has given up 350+ to 3 QBS and 250 to Stafford on top of the fact that they give up on average of 3.5 passing touchdowns a game. The last two games, he’s been a man on fire (move over Katniss) and hasn’t seemed like he’s going to slow down. He’s been averaging 335 and 4 the last two which match-up pretty well with what the Pats have been giving up. He is set up for success and you should do yourself a favor and go win your week with Mitch.

C.J. Beathard

ESPN Own %: 5.7

Yahoo Own%: 6

Ever since Jimmy G went down, this kid has been doing decent work for fantasy. He’s broken 17 points or more in every game thus far. You have to begin to wonder if he will be part of the reason some people win their leagues with QB injuries and byes coming soon. With Kyle Shanahan at the helm and some decent options to receive his passes, Beathard should be owned through bye weeks. He’s been 250+ to go with 2 TDs and his rushing the ball when he can, good enough baseline to take care of you week in and week out.

Also I beg of you, make sure you keep your eyes peeled for add/drop transactions. Someone always drops valuable players during the waivers. Bye weeks are about to wreck some teams that have multiple players on the same bye, valuable players will become available in the coming weeks. You set yourself up in the draft, you win through waivers! Go get your #waiverxmas on and come home with a #Top2TypeVictory!
